Carved from lightwood by the Nias people of Northern Sumatra, Indonesia. Generally, Nias people used their decorative mask for different purposes, warding off evil spirits from home or to heal spesific illnesses. This particular mask is finely carved with different motifs and painted in white. Beautifully mounted to it’s standee.
Visible signs of wear and tear but still in an excellent condition. Fumigation/Treatment of the wood certificate will be included as your copy for your receiving purposes.
