Dayak people of Borneo traditionally carry their children in a kind of wicker baskets (Dayak Baby Carrier or Ba’ ), with a wooden base in the shape of a semicircle. Made of Rattan, Ironwood or some Lightwood with good flexibility, elasticity and strength.
This carrier is carved with a large mystical dog as the main figure, believed to protect the child from any harm. Aged approximately 20 – 30 years old.
