The Dogon are an ethnic group living in the central plateau region of Mali, in West Africa, south of the Niger bend, near the city of Bandiagara, and in Burkina Faso. For the Dogons, a mask is more than just a disguise for the head. It consists of the dancer’s outfit including a head-covering, the costume, dancing accessories, and the mask performance.
Please note that there’s cracks at the top of the mask (back of the mask) as shown in the picture, hence adding more character to it. Fumigation/Treatment of the wood certificate will be included as your copy for your receiving purposes.
