Papier-mâché or Paper Mache is a composite material consisting of paper pieces or pulp, sometimes reinforced with textiles, bound with an adhesive, such as glue, starch, or wallpaper paste.
This single piece of bowl was interestingly found in South Africa, reasonably old, believed to be brought by the Chinese immigrants many years ago. Generally used as a storage for dried food.
